This position supports the strategic actions of the Multi

- Year Strategic Plan.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES : As the Head Custodian, your responsibilities are:

- Ensure divisional buildings and properties are safe and in clean condition.
- Lead and supervises custodial staff.
- Administrative tasks.
- Maintenance tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) :

- High school graduation certificate or equivalent training/experience is required.
- Must hold a valid 5th Class Power Engineer License. (from the Province of Manitoba)
- Completion of Respect In School or equivalent training is required.
- Minimum 2 years previous custodial/cleaning experience is required.
- 1-2 years of previous experience supervising staff is required.
- Knowledge of WHMIS, Workplace Safety and Health, Fire Safety, is preferred.
- Knowledge of codes and regulations affecting building systems in school facilities is preferred
- Superior communication and organization skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to the public and school staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.




- Ability to read and write English as well as understand simple instructions, diagrams, and procedures to fix and install
- equipment for regular repairs.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, assign, and share work in an productive, fair manner.
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Ability to coach and work collaboratively with others.
- Recognize, practice, and demonstrate safety.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Respects confidentiality of work.
- Leads custodial staff with integrity and respect.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Clear report from the Child Abuse Registry.
