Description
Unlike a traditional execution-focused design role, this position is centered on UX strategy, research, customer journeys and insight-driven recommendations. You will help identify experience opportunities, understand user behaviour and business objectives, and translate research and insights into clear recommendations and UX artifacts that the visual design team can bring to life.
The team is building its processes and ways of working, so this role is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing ideas forward, creating structure and helping mature a UX practice rather than simply stepping into an established process.
What Youll Do
- Lead UX initiatives from initial intake and problem definition through research, ideation, recommendations and handoff to Design.
- Partner closely with Product to understand business objectives, KPIs and product priorities while ensuring the user's experience remains central to decision-making.
- Conduct and synthesize user research, including interviews and other qualitative research methods.
- Develop customer journeys, experience maps, wireframes and other UX artifacts that communicate recommendations to Product and Design.
- Evaluate user experiences using analytics, research and behavioural data to identify friction points and opportunities for improvement.
- Help determine the appropriate UX approach for new initiatives, including where research, interviews, analytics or journey mapping are required.
- Consider how customer journeys should translate across web, mobile and connected TV experiences, recognizing that the right experience may differ by platform.
- Support experiences across both TV and News,
rather than being dedicated to a single platform or product area.
- Present UX findings, recommendations and experience improvements to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Partner with the UX Lead and broader team to establish new UX processes, intake models, working practices and recurring experience reviews.
- Help strengthen UX and design maturity across the organization by advocating for research and user-centered decision-making.
What Were Looking For

- Experience designing or evaluating customer journeys across both web and mobile/digital product experiences.
- Ability to operate strategically and connect user needs, product objectives and business goals.
- Comfortable working with Product and Design teams while maintaining a solid point of view as an advocate for the user.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills,
with the confidence to present directly to senior leaders.
- Comfortable operating in an evolving setting where processes are still being defined.
