Few experiences are as powerful as helping a struggling student learn to read—it’s a moment that transforms their future and fills your heart with purpose

Evoke Learning seeks a dedicated and compassionate reading intervention specialist to join our growing team.

Evoke is a virtual learning and wellness centre supporting students to reach their academic potential and social-emotional well-being. We take a holistic, client-centred approach, recognizing that learning is influenced by emotions, setting, relationships, and sense of self. As a client-centred service, we understand that everyone’s learning journey is unique, and we consider the student to be the expert in their own life. Evoke individualizes student support and asks, “What does the student need right now to feel successful and capable?” We specialize in working with neurodivergent learners, including students with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, and/or giftedness. Evoke not only teaches skills but also fosters confidence, independence, and a lifelong learner mindset.

Evoke offers an intensive, research-informed Reading Remediation program to students from Grade 1 through postsecondary, grounded in the science of reading. This high-dosage intervention is delivered one-to-one, virtually, via 30-minute tutoring sessions five days a week.

Evoke works with a diverse range of students, including those with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD, and/or giftedness. The reading intervention specialist delivers evidence-aligned instruction and supports students in developing foundational literacy skills, including phonemic awareness, phonics, orthography, fluency, syntax, spelling, vocabulary, morphology, and comprehension. Specialists foster a positive,

encouraging learning environment that builds confidence and motivation.

Successful candidates must complete a thorough background check (including vulnerable sector screening) and a reading skills assessment. All specialists participate in an initial paid training session before beginning work.

This is a one-year contractual temporary employment position with the opportunity for an extension. Consistent, ongoing support is necessary for our students. Only candidates who can commit to a full year will be considered.
