Our team performs research and development (R&D;) work to meet the needs of the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The projects focus on innovative digital solutions combining software development, systems integration, modern infrastructure, and generative artificial intelligence.
As part of accelerating our artificial intelligence initiatives, we want to develop a new generation of applications based on Agentic AI. These solutions go beyond traditional conversational assistants by enabling intelligent agents to analyze data, reason, make decisions, orchestrate complex workflows, and interact with multiple enterprise systems autonomously and securely.
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer specialized in generative AI and Agentic AI to join our team in Quebec City, specializing in knowledge management. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on data collection, transformation, and enrichment. Our projects involve defining and deploying automated processing chains to make data accessible to users. With the support of our data scientists, the team designs, trains, and integrates artificial intelligence models, including generative AI (GenAI) based on large language models (LLMs), to improve data analysis. Our team also uses AI and machine learning (ML) concepts to increase analysis efficiency.
Essential Functions
The incumbent Full Stack Developer specialized in generative AI and Agentic AI will play a key role in the design, development, and production release of intelligent platforms and applications integrating language models (LLMs), multi-agent architectures, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) engines, orchestration tools, and next-generation cloud services.
The person in this position will contribute to strategic projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, decision support, and the automation of complex processes in environments where security, reliability, and traceability are essential. This person must be autonomous, curious, and comfortable in an R&D; context where needs evolve rapidly. This person will work with architecture, development, and artificial intelligence teams to transform technical concepts into concrete, demonstrable, and scalable solutions.
This person is part of a multidisciplinary team. A strong team spirit and the ability to work collaboratively are mandatory. The ideal person is therefore able to demonstrate transversal skills that facilitate the transfer of work done to all concerned stakeholders. Consequently, valuable communication skills are required.
Responsibilities of the Full Stack Developer in Agentic AI:
- Participate in the integration of generative AI solutions, RAG pipelines, vector embeddings, and semantic search mechanisms.
- Develop or integrate MCP tools and MCP servers.
- Contribute to the integration of language models, agents, or AI components into application solutions.
- Develop connectors allowing AI systems to interact with APIs, databases, internal services, or external systems.
- Participate in prototyping, experimentation,
and evaluation of solutions based on generative AI and agentic systems.
- Develop backend services, APIs, microservices, and integration components mainly in Python.
- Participate in the development of lightweight interfaces, web prototypes, demonstrators, or internal tools.
- Integrate frontend, backend components, AI services, databases, APIs, and external systems.
- Create, maintain, and optimize Docker images.
- Develop, adapt, and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes environments.
- Participate in the automation of deployments, configurations, and runtime environments.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to containers, dependencies, configurations, and Kubernetes environments.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, AI specialists, and other technical stakeholders.
- Apply best practices for development, security, documentation, testing, and code review.
- Participate in the team's Agile activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or any other related and relevant field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in software development, fullstack development, backend, software infrastructure, or DevOps.
- Experience in Agile methodology, notably Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience in development with Python.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI.
- Experience with containerization, notably Docker.
- Experience with databases and their deployment.
- Experience in the development and maintenance of data flows such as ETL, transformation, synchronization, etc.
