We are a warm and welcoming family looking for a caring, reliable babysitter or nanny to help with our 5-month-old son as a part-time, flexible arrangement from June – December 2026.

About the role:
Our schedule is a little unique — my husband works a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation, so the level of help I need varies. When he is away, I'll be looking for more frequent support while I am still on maternity leave; when he is home, I may need less.

I can guarantee a minimum of 20 hours over each two-week period for daytime care, which I'm happy to commit to in writing. Hours will be a mix of daytime and occasional evenings, and the schedule won't always be the same week to week — so flexibility is key!

The daytime hours will mostly be to mind our son while I do schoolwork, yardwork, cooking, cleaning, and take the occasional nap! For this reason, if you have part-time work or school commitments during the week, I can be quite versatile and work around your schedule.

Evening babysitting will average around once a week and can be structured in whichever way works best for you — either as additional ad-hoc hours on top of the guaranteed 20, or folded in to bring the guarantee up to approximately 24 hours. I'm flexible and happy to find whatever arrangement suits your situation best.

What we're looking for:

- Genuine experience caring for infants (newborn to 12 months)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Warm, patient, and attentive — someone who will truly engage with our little one




- Reliable and communicative — if something comes up, we want someone who will let us know promptly
- Comfortable in a home with a cat
- References from previous childcare positions are required
- A criminal record check will be requested prior to hiring

About us:

We are a family in Mount Pleasant — I'm a Registered Nurse currently on maternity leave, and my husband works in construction. We are an LGBTQ affirming household and would love to find someone who shares our values of warmth and inclusivity.

A note on the timeline:
This is a temporary position running through December 2026, as I will be returning to work in January and our childcare needs will change at that point. We don't yet know exactly what that will look like — whether daycare full-time, part-time, or something else — but if the arrangement works well, there is a real possibility it could continue in some capacity (evenings, weekends, or alongside part-time daycare).

We just can't make any commitments beyond December at this stage, but we wanted to be upfront about that potential.
