Our client, a portfolio company in the staffing industry, is seeking a hands-on finance qualified to support the business during a transition period. This is a full-time contract opportunity for someone who can step in quickly, manage day-to-day finance operations, and help keep the function stable and organized within a small team environment. There is potential for the role to become permanent.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing core accounting and finance activities, supporting reporting and compliance requirements, and helping management maintain visibility into financial performance. This role requires a practical, detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working in a lean environment and handling both operational and month-end responsibilities.Key Responsibilities
Review cash position and support urgent disbursements and payment decisionsOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and follow up on outstanding itemsRespond to finance-related questions from management, internal teams, vendors,



and clientsOversee timesheet submissions and billing processesMonitor ongoing finance and back-office activities and resolve issues or bottlenecksProcess weekly EFT and wire paymentsUpdate financial forecasts and identify risks or variancesProcess semi-monthly payroll across both entitiesHandle payroll-related changes including new hires, terminations, vacation updates, and bonusesLead month-end close and reconcile accountsPrepare monthly financial reporting packages and variance analysis against budget and prior yearPresent financial results and reporting to managementMonitor key performance indicators related to contractors and placementsTrack covenant compliance and prepare related reportingCalculate commissionsPrepare executive summary reporting for leadership and the boardComplete monthly and annual government filingsAssist with the external audit processJob Requirements:
QualificationsStrong hands-on finance and accounting experienceExperience managing month-end close, reconciliations, payroll, reporting, and complianceComfortable working in a small team and taking ownership of day-to-day finance operationsAble to step into an existing environment quickly and provide stability during a transitionExperience in staffing or a similar service-based environment is preferredNetSuite experience is an assetAudit exposure is helpful but not essential
