- Ensure account balances are properly supported, reconciled, and ready for review.
2. Month-End and Quarter-End Close
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, account analyses, and supporting schedules in accordance with established close deadlines.

- Analyze aged accounts receivable, credit-limit exceptions, and customer recoverability.
- Prepare supporting documentation for allowance assessments, provisions, and write-offs.
- Maintain clear documentation supporting high-risk customer accounts and credit-related decisions, including do-not-sell restrictions.
4. Inventory Accounting and Analysis
- Complete quarterly inventory reconciliations and maintain supporting count sheets, schedules, and documentation.
- Investigate inventory count variances, recurring SKU discrepancies, and warehouse-related trends.
- Analyze inventory movements and variances, identifying potential accounting issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Support inventory reporting, margin analysis, and business intelligence activities to provide meaningful insights to management.

- Support the remediation of Internal Audit findings by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and supporting evidence.
- Identify gaps in documentation, process breakdowns, and potential control weaknesses, escalating concerns to the Controller.
- Assist with historical account cleanup, accounting process improvements, and broader finance stabilization initiatives.
- Leverage AI tools and advanced Excel techniques to improve data analysis, reporting accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications
- CPA designation, CPA candidate, or equivalent depth of hands-on accounting experience.
- Strong practical experience with bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, journal entries, period-end close activities, and supporting schedules.

- Experience with margin analysis, financial reporting, and providing business intelligence to support operational and financial decision-making.
- Working knowledge of accounts receivable,
credit management, cash application, and allowance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets, identify discrepancies, and produce reliable financial reports.
- Experience using AI tools to support accounting processes, data analysis, reporting, or productivity improvements.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently research discrepancies, document findings, and drive issues through to resolution.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities while working through a significant accounting backlog under firm deadlines.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to financial accuracy, documentation, and internal controls.
