Job Responsibility:

Job Summary:

Holiday Inn Ottawa East is seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient setting for guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
- Inspect hotel facilities and equipment regularly to identify issues.
- Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
- Perform preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis.
- Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
- Assist in the implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
- Participate in emergency response operations as required.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.




- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valuable communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
- Previous experience in hotel maintenance.
- Knowledge of energy management systems.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.
