Grow with Joy Childcare (2nd Avenue) is looking for dedicated, dependable, and caring individuals to join our childcare team.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR – NOC 42202 (Level 3)

Salary: $33.82-$45.00 per hour

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: 35–40 hours per week

Work Location: 2157 Unit E 2nd Avenue, Whitehorse, YT Y1A 1C6

Language of Work: English

Key Responsibilities

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children.

Maintain daily records, including observations, meals, and medications.

Support children's daily routines, including eating, resting, toileting, and personal care.

Engage children in reading, storytelling, art, music, crafts, and other developmentally appropriate activities.

Monitor children's play and maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive setting.

Clean and sanitize toys, equipment, materials, and program areas.

Provide personal care, including diapering, dressing, feeding, and bottle preparation as required.

Assist with meal preparation and serving.

Perform light housekeeping and general administrative duties related to the childcare program.

Accompany and supervise children during outdoor play, walks, outings, and transitions.

Communicate children's daily activities, progress, needs, and behaviours with families.

Participate in staff meetings, training,



scheduling, and other team responsibilities.

Support the inclusion and participation of children with exceptional or additional support needs.

Follow applicable childcare licensing, health, safety, and workplace policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

First Aid and CPR Certificate

Knowledge of childcare licensing requirements

Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and other educators
