Our client is a well-established, growing multi-site organization seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, Human Resources to lead its HR function. Reporting to the Senior Director of HR and partnering closely with senior operational leadership, this role will provide strategic HR guidance while remaining actively involved in day-to-day HR execution. The successful candidate will help shape culture, strengthen leadership capability, attract and retain talent, and ensure HR practices support the organization’s continued growth. This role is primarily onsite at the Markham office, with flexibility to travel to the organization’s multiple locations as required.

Lead the HR function and provide leadership to an HR Generalist.

Partner with senior leaders on people strategy, workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.

Provide guidance on employee relations, investigations, performance management, accommodations, progressive discipline, and employment legislation.

Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and talent acquisition strategies.





Develop leadership development, training, succession planning, and employee development programs.

Monitor HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, engagement, retention, and time-to-fill.

Oversee HR policies, benefits, compliance, and HR processes.

Support change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Partner with external legal counsel on employment matters as required.

8–10+ years of progressive, hands-on HR leadership experience.

Degree in HR, Business, or related field; CHRP/CHRL is an asset.

Strong experience across employee relations, talent management, recruitment, performance management, and HR operations.

Experience supporting a multi-site organization is highly preferred.

ADP Workforce Now and/or BambooHR is an asset.

Solid business acumen, communication skills, emotional intelligence, and leadership presence.
