Cando Community School is located in the Hamlet of Cando.

Our school has a Kindergarten to Grade 12 program, attended by students from the Red Pheasant Cree First Nation, Mosquito First Nation, and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a teacher who is skilled and adept at bringing First Nations history to all curricula through an anti-racist and anti-oppressive lens.

This special candidate should be able to differentiate instruction in an alternative learning environment and be able to build relationships with students to provide meaningful connections to the curriculum for them.

They should also be an advocate for student needs, finding innovative and creative ways to include student voice in school decision-making structures.

Organization and flexibility are highly valued.

This posting is for a Temporary Full-Time (1.0) FTE Educational Assistant Position at Cando Community School, commencing immediately and ending June 30, 2027.





Cando has modified work days calendar and has an additional 14 Fridays off throughout the school year.

Educational Assistants are an important part of the school team and promote engagement, participation and success of students.

The successful applicant will support core subject areas in both small groups and in the classroom.

Qualifications Minimum Grade 12 education with at least one (1) year relevant childcare experience Post-secondary certificate from a recognized institution in Early Learning & Childcare, Youth Care Worker or equivalent program would be considered an asset The Right Person will genuinely appreciate working with children and demonstrate patience, show empathy, and help make learning fun; possess strong planning and organizational skills while showing initiative ; have excellent communication skills and a willingness to work independently be positive, enthusiastic and thrive in a team workplace.
