**Heavy General Laborer
Production and Assembly**
**Job Description**
This role is part of a fast-paced manufacturing production team that assembles parts and components, performs touch-up and minor rework, prepares products for shipment, and maintains high quality standards.

You will work with hand and power tools, move materials throughout the production area, and contribute to the assembly, finishing, and preparation of vehicles and equipment.
**Responsibilities**
Assemble vehicle components and other parts using hand tools and power tools in a production environment.

Install brackets, hardware, and accessories according to detailed work instructions and production guidelines.

Perform touch-up work and minor rework on assembled components to meet quality and specification requirements.

Move materials, components, and finished products throughout the production area in a safe and organized manner.

Use grinding machines and power grinding tools to work on steel frames and other metal components, including hard-to-reach areas.

Operate or support the use of production and assembly equipment as directed.

Follow all written work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards throughout each stage of production.

Collaborate with team members and leads to meet production goals and deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
**Essential Skills**
At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, assembly, automotive, or production environments.

Proficiency using hand tools and power tools in a production or assembly setting.

Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions accurately and consistently.

Capability to perform heavy labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.

Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills for handling small parts and precise assembly work.

Experience with grinding machines or similar metal finishing tools.

Ability to work safely with production and assembly equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.

Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record.

Comfort with physically demanding tasks, including working in hard-to-reach areas on vehicle frames and components.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience in automotive, heavy equipment manufacturing environments.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints for assembly or production work.

Forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.

Mechanical aptitude or completion of an assembly-related certification.

Experience using a paint sprayer or working in a spray booth environment.

Familiarity with production processes involving specialized materials and coatings.

Previous experience with paint preparation or pre-paint operations such as air drilling material pieces.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a quick-paced manufacturing facility focused on vehicle and equipment assembly, finishing, and preparation.

You will work primarily on a day shift schedule from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with overtime available after 40 hours.

The work involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive assembly tasks, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in and around large steel frames and metal components.

Team members use a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, grinding machines, paint sprayers, spray booths, and other production and assembly equipment.

The facility promotes safety, organization, and adherence to work instructions, with a practical, hands-on work environment and attire suitable for industrial and production activities.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of London, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.16 - $27.16/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
