VH Tax & Advisory Inc. is a boutique accounting and tax advisory firm serving private businesses and their owners across Canada. We are seeking an experienced contract accountant to prepare compilation engagement files and corporate income tax returns.

Responsibilities

- Prepare year-end working papers, reconciliations, supporting schedules and adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare compilation financial statements and related documentation under CSRS 4200.
- Prepare T2 corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules.
- Identify accounting and tax issues and flag matters requiring the principal’s attention.
- Resolve review notes and deliver complete, well-organized files within agreed timelines.
- Communicate regularly about file progress, missing information and deadlines.

Qualifications

- Canadian public accounting firm experience is required, including hands-on preparation of compilation engagement files and T2 returns.




- Ability to manage files independently through to partner review.
- Solid knowledge of accounting for Canadian private companies and routine corporate tax matters.
- Proficiency with Canadian corporate tax and working paper software; CCH iFirm and QuickBooks Online experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, clear communication and reliable follow-through.
- CPA designation is an asset.
