Role Description The Artisan Baker role is a full-time, in office position located in Burnaby, BC. This role involves preparing, mixing, shaping, and baking a variety of breads, cookies, and other baked goods with an emphasis on Mediterranean-inspired recipes. Day-to-day tasks include scaling ingredients, operating and maintaining baking equipment, monitoring product quality, and ensuring items meet appearance and taste standards.

The Artisan

Baker will follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, organize workstations, and help manage inventory of ingredients. The role also includes collaborating with team members, assisting with product displays, and occasionally interacting with customers or internal clients to support special orders and seasonal offerings.

Qualifications





- Experience in professional bakery operations, including production planning and workflow in a commercial or artisan bakery setting.
- Strong baking skills with hands-on experience in dough handling, fermentation, and baking techniques for bread, cookies, and related products.
- Proficiency in food preparation practices, including accurate measurement, recipe execution, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Specialized knowledge of bread and cookies production, including shaping, proofing, baking times, and consistent product quality.
- Ability to work on-site for early morning or flexible shifts, stand for extended periods, and lift ingredient bags or trays as required.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and strong time-management skills in a fast-paced production environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate respectfully with a diverse team.
- Previous experience as an artisan baker, pastry cook, or in a similar bakery role; formal culinary or baking training is an asset.
