Position Overview

The successful candidate will perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel-powered heavy trucks, tractors, semi-trailers, and related equipment. Experience servicing and repairing Hydrovac and Straight-vac trucks is essential.

Key Responsibilities: 310T Truck & Trailer Mechanic

- Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Perform preventative, predictive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and reliable.
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using inspections, road testing, and diagnostic tools.
- Complete repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications, applicable regulations, and safety standards.
- Interpret work orders, technical manuals, and repair procedures.
- Install, modify, repair, or replace vehicle components and systems as required.
- Conduct inspections and quick checks to identify additional repair needs or potential equipment issues.
- Communicate repair recommendations and maintenance concerns to management.
- Assist with parts inventory management and ordering replacement parts and supplies.
- Accurately complete work orders, maintenance reports, and time records.




- Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation and compliance with safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements: 310T Truck & Trailer Mechanic

- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician licence.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the medium- or heavy-duty truck or automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience servicing and repairing Hydrovac and Straight-vac trucks is required.
- Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Solid technical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles, diesel engines, and related systems.
- Own a complete set of heavy-duty mechanic tools.
- Strong commitment to equipment safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage high workloads and stressful situations.
- Ability to guide and mentor apprentices.
- Flexibility to work alternate shifts when required to provide vacation or sick-day coverage.

Working Conditions

- Work both indoors and outdoors, including at construction sites.
- Occasional travel to off-site locations may be required.
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toed safety boots, is required.
- Exposure to typical mechanical, industrial, and construction-related hazards.
