At Omegro, we believe that the strength of our portfolio is a direct reflection of our people. As part of a global ecosystem (CSU:TSX), we offer the stability of a permanent home combined with the agility of a decentralized network. We are looking for experts who are passionate about operational excellence and eager to contribute to a culture that prioritizes professional development, flexible collaboration, and the shared success of our global network of businesses.
Position Overview:
Omegro is seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our growing IT & Data Security team. Supporting a portfolio of more than 27 software businesses across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, you will play a key role in strengthening security capabilities across a diverse and globally distributed organization.
This is a hands-on technical role with broad exposure and meaningful impact. As part of a small, high-performing team, you will help design and operationalize security controls, drive the adoption of security technologies, support security assessments and incident response activities, and contribute to the successful integration of newly acquired businesses.
You'll work directly with business leaders and IT teams across the portfolio, helping them implement practical, sustainable security controls that improve resilience while preserving the autonomy of our decentralized operating model. Success in this role comes from enabling businesses to build and sustain their own security capabilities, rather than relying on central support.
Responsibilities:
Security Platform Ownership
- Act as the technical lead for key security platforms across the portfolio, ensuring they are effectively deployed, configured, monitored, and continuously improved.
- Drive the rollout and adoption of new security capabilities and services across multiple businesses and environments.
- Troubleshoot complex security tooling issues, maintain platform health, and support ongoing optimisation efforts.
- Develop practical guidance, playbooks, and operational documentation that enable local IT teams to operate security controls independently.
Security Engineering & Enablement
- Work directly with business IT teams to implement and operationalize security controls aligned with Omegro security standards.
- Support the deployment,
configuration, and ongoing management of security technologies across endpoint security, identity, email security, vulnerability management, cloud security, data protection, detection & response, and Zero Trust domains.
- Evaluate security technologies, support tool migrations, and make recommendations that improve security outcomes while reducing operational complexity.
- Contribute technical expertise to the broader IT & Data Security community through knowledge sharing, workshops, and best-practices guidance.
Security Assessments & Continuous Improvement
- Support security assessment activities by validating control implementation, identifying gaps, and guiding remediation efforts.
- Help businesses establish repeatable processes for maintaining evidence, demonstrating compliance, and sustaining security maturity.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen security posture across the portfolio and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
M&A; and Security Integration
- Participate in the security assessment of acquisition targets as part of M&A; due diligence activities.
- Evaluate technical security risks, tooling compatibility, and operational readiness.
- Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into the Omegro security program, including security tooling deployment and onboarding activities.
Incident Response Support
- Act as a technical resource during security incidents, assisting with investigation, containment, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
- Contribute technical expertise that helps businesses respond effectively and improve resilience following security events.
Required skills and experience:
- 7–10 years of experience in security engineering, security operations or a closely related hands-on technical security role.
- Deep operational proficiency with CrowdStrike Falcon at scale, including Prevent, Insight/Spotlight, Identity Protection and NG-SIEM,
with alert triage and response.
- Solid understanding of EDR beyond CrowdStrike, with the ability to compare, assess and work with alternative solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Zero Trust (DNS filtering, Gateway policies, ZTNA/Access and Tunnel) and email threat protection platforms such as Abnormal, Proofpoint, Mimecast or Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
- Experience operating a vulnerability management program and practical knowledge of modern IAM including Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, SSO/MFA and conditional access policies.
- Experience with endpoint management platforms (Intune, Autopilot or comparable), security awareness platforms and network security fundamentals.
- Ability to write clear, accurate operational documentation for non-specialist audiences, and to translate technical risk into business language.
- CrowdStrike certifications (CCFA, CCFR), CISSP or Microsoft security certifications, and experience in multi-tenant, MSSP or M&A; due diligence environments, are highly desirable.
