JMcKay's Auto Detailing | Newmarket, Aurora, York Region & Vaughan

Job Overview

JMcKay's Auto Detailing is looking for an experienced automotive detailer to join our growing team!

We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working on cars, takes pride in their work, and has a strong eye for detail.

Our biggest priorities are attention to detail and personality. We want someone who notices the small things others might miss, takes pride in their work, and genuinely cares about getting the job done right.

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who's friendly, outgoing, and enjoys talking to people. This isn't just a hands-on detailing job. You'll be interacting with customers, representing our business, and helping us build lasting relationships. We want someone who takes pride in being part of JMcKay's Auto Detailing, shares our commitment to quality customer service, and is excited to grow with us as we continue building our team and company culture.

You don't need years of professional experience or a perfect resume. What matters most is that you have some hands-on detailing experience, a positive work ethic, and a genuine passion for cars.

We provide training on our processes and techniques, so we're happy to help someone with the right attitude continue developing their skills.

Responsibilities

- Complete interior and exterior detailing on a variety of vehicles.
- Perform vacuuming, steam cleaning, shampooing, washing, waxing, and other detailing services.
- Inspect vehicles before starting and identify any existing damage or concerns.
- Carefully check finished work to catch any missed spots or imperfections.
- Properly use and maintain professional detailing equipment and products.
- Communicate professionally with customers and other team members.
- Keep equipment, vehicles, and work areas clean and organized.
- Work independently or alongside other detailers depending on the job.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

- Previous hands-on experience with interior and exterior automotive detailing.

- Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
- A genuine interest in cars and automotive care.
- Reliability, punctuality, and good communication.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Willingness to learn and improve your skills.
- A valid Ontario G driver's licence.
- Reliable transportation to the work location.

Additional experience is an asset, but not required:

- Ceramic coating application
- Paint correction and machine polishing
- Waxing and paint protection
- Glass coatings

We're happy to train the right person in more advanced detailing services. You don't need to know everything coming in!

Work Location & Schedule

- Spring to Fall: Mobile detailing at customers' homes and workplaces throughout Newmarket, Aurora, and York Region.
- Winter: Work is primarily completed at our shop location in Vaughan.
- Company Vehicle: A fully equipped detailing van can be provided for mobile appointments.
- Schedule: Flexible, booking-based scheduling. Hours will vary depending on customer demand.

This is a hands-on position where you'll get to work on a wide variety of vehicles, develop your skills, and be part of a growing detailing business.

How to Apply

We don't need a formal resume!

We're more interested in what you can actually do than what's written on paper.

When applying, tell us a little about:

- Your previous detailing experience.
- The types of detailing services you're comfortable performing.
- Your availability.
- Why you're interested in working with cars.

Photos of your previous detailing work are welcome but not required. Please only share photos you have permission to use.

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a paid hands-on assessment, with the pay and details agreed upon beforehand.
