Central Utility Services - Central Island Power is recruiting a Full-Time Hydro Cable Splicer . This position reports to our facility yard - Malahat, BC, on beautiful Vancouver Island. Requirements:

- Experience with PILC, XLPE and EPR cable types.
- Experience with PILC cable preparation, soldering, and lead cable splicing wiping. (Valid Certificate and Skills Test will be required)
- Construct, maintain, and repair underground electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including cables, transformers, switch gear, and protective devices.
- Read and apply one-line diagrams, switching orders, safe work method statements,



and construction standards in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and applicable client safety requirements.
- Ability to read and apply one-line diagrams, switching orders, safe work method statements, and construction standards across a variety of utility and industrial client’s Sound judgment when working on or near energized systems.
- Valid clearance from IBEW Local 258 prior to commencing work
- Ability to work independently in remote locations and as part of a crew, including extended hours and emergency callouts
