Our client, a leading Canadian retailer, is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Junior Buying Assistant to join their agile team in Montreal. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in buying, merchandising, and retail operations.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate the purchase order process, including entering orders into the system, sending them to suppliers, and following up to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain, organize, and update purchasing documents, reports, and product information.
- Allocate merchandise to stores based on inventory needs and business requirements.
- Prepare inventory reports, sales analyses, and performance reports to support purchasing decisions.
- Coordinate product samples and ensure proper tracking and follow-up.




- Communicate with suppliers and internal departments to ensure accurate information and smooth purchasing operations.
- Provide administrative support to the buying team as needed.

Requirements

- DEC or equivalent college diploma.
- 1–2 years of experience in a buying, purchasing, merchandising, or retail administrative role.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of the AS/400 system is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
- Bilingual in French and English.
