A key part of the CAD Technician role will be preparing engineering drawings such as manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly drawings, as well as creating and maintaining 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Performs drafting operations for the determination of project plans and collects data for Project designs.
- Prepare complex drawings for Engineering Projects.
- Develops and drafts engineering drawings and plans, drafts contract documents and generates correspondence for clients and managers.
- Maintains dynamic communication with contractors, clients, employees, engineers, and the public for any architectural, engineering or construction issues.
- Maintains up to date working and technical knowledge of all procedural and improvement changes to ABC Canada’s products, equipment, computer hardware and software applications.
- Performs a range of special projects related to design as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent.
- Experience with the Autodesk Suite including Inventor, AutoCAD,
Fusion 365 or Similar programs like Solid works.
- Experience with 3D modeling and preparing and interpreting 2D engineering drawings.
- Ability to fully understand and follow highly complex oral and written instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Must be able to work independently and as a team in a design setting.
- Enthusiastic problem solver, that is highly organized and has a keen eye for small details.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference would be given to individuals that have experience designing products that involve or utilize fabrics and/or plastics.
- Basic knowledge in machine design, welding and metal fabrication is preferred.
- Fluent in English, French and/or Spanish would be considered an asset.
