Schedule: Tuesday–Sunday (weekends required)
About the Role
Grain of Rice is a family-owned Chinese and Vietnamese kitchen in West Edmonton, and we're growing. We're looking for someone eager to learn, willing to work hard, and proud of a clean station. You don't need experience — we'll train you on everything. What we're looking for is someone who shows up with energy, pays attention, and gradually builds the confidence to hold their own on a busy line.
What You'll Be Doing
- Food prep: chopping, portioning, and getting ingredients ready for service
- Helping with frying and cooking tasks as you get comfortable
- Keeping your area and the kitchen clean throughout the shift — this is our highest standard
- Washing dishes and maintaining equipment
- Learning to read the flow of orders and understand priorities as you grow into the role
What We're Looking For
- Someone who takes pride in their work and doesn't need to be reminded to clean up after themselves
- A willingness to learn and grow — we want someone who'll eventually be able to read a busy line and move with confidence
- Reliable and punctual, every shift
- Able to stand for extended periods and work in a warm kitchen environment
- Weekend availability is required; must also be available for select holidays (Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc.)
- Vietnamese or Cantonese language skills are an asset but not required

We keep it simple. Come in for a casual conversation so we can get to know you — and on the same visit, you'll spend a short time in the kitchen with the team. It's low pressure and a great way for both of us to see if it's a good fit.
