Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing drywall surfaces to a high standard of quality, ensuring smooth, seamless walls and ceilings for residential and commercial projects. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in various finishing techniques, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace. Prior experience in construction-related fields is highly valued, and candidates should be committed to maintaining safety and craftsmanship standards on every job site.
Duties
- Apply joint compound, tape, and other finishing materials to drywall seams and corners
- Sand and smooth finished surfaces to achieve a professional appearance
- Caulk around trim, windows, and other fixtures for a clean finish
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to understand project specifications
- Install and repair drywall components as needed
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to ensure project quality and timeliness
- Maintain a clean work area and adhere to safety protocols throughout all phases of work
- Assist with minor maintenance person tasks related to drywall installation and finishing when required
Experience
- Prior experience in drywall finishing or related construction roles is preferred
- Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading is advantageous
- Maintenance Person experience or general construction background is a plus
- Ability to operate basic hand tools and finishing equipment effectively
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for precision in surface finishing
- Good physical stamina and ability to work on ladders or scaffolding for extended periods
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety standards
