Our client is an established organization seeking a full-time Counsellor / Psychotherapist to join their clinical team in Ottawa, Ontario. This is a hybrid position combining primarily in-person clinical work with flexibility for virtual sessions. French / English Bilingualism preferred.

This is an excellent prospect for an experienced clinician looking to provide meaningful psychotherapy services to an adult client population. The successful candidate will maintain an active clinical caseload, provide short-term counselling and crisis support, and work within a close-knit and collaborative clinical environment.

Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:

Psychotherapy & Client Care

- Provide individual psychotherapy services to adult clients in both English and ideally in French.
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 25 psychotherapy sessions per week.
- Provide short-term, solution-focused counselling and supportive interventions.
- Conduct client assessments, treatment planning, clinical documentation, case management, and referrals as required.
- Support adults navigating complex personal, workplace, mental health, and life challenges.

Crisis Support & Clinical Responsibilities

- Participate in a shared crisis-response program through scheduled paid on-call coverage.
- Provide appropriate support to clients experiencing urgent or challenging mental health situations.
- Exercise strong clinical judgment when assessing client needs and determining appropriate interventions or referrals.
- Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Clinical Support

- Collaborate with colleagues and external service providers to support continuity of care.




- Contribute to a supportive team environment focused on open communication, collaboration, and quality client care.
- Support organizational initiatives related to mental health promotion, education, and wellness programming.
- Provide guidance and clinical support to developing clinicians, as required.

Work Environment & Scheduling

- Provide a combination of in-person and virtual psychotherapy services, with the majority of the role based from the Ottawa office.
- Work within a flexible clinical schedule and participate in shared scheduled on-call coverage.
- Maintain a private and professional home-office environment when providing virtual counselling services.
- Work effectively within a busy and evolving environment where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important.

Qualifications:

- Professional ability to conduct psychotherapy services in both English and French is preferred.
- Master's degree in Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Current registration in good standing as a Registered Psychotherapist (RP), Registered Social Worker (RSW), or another acceptable regulated professional designation permitting the provision of psychotherapy.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy to adult clients.




- Ability to provide in-person clinical services from the Ottawa office.
- Strong clinical judgment, assessment, communication, and crisis-intervention skills.
- Ability to work effectively with clients experiencing significant distress, frustration, anger, or complex personal circumstances while maintaining empathy and professionalism.
- Comfortable working within a busy clinical environment and supporting clients who may present with challenging or complex needs.
- Experience providing short-term, solution-focused counselling is considered an asset.
- Experience with crisis response and mental health assessment is considered an asset.
- Qualifications or experience supervising practicum students or developing clinicians is considered an asset.
- Experience providing mental health services to adults working within demanding occupational environments is considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to participate in scheduled paid on-call coverage.

Pay: From $105,000.00 per year
