On The Move Moving & Junk Removal is hiring reliable, hardworking drivers and moving helpers to join our team serving Durham Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY

On The Move helps customers through every stage of their move, with services including packing, loading, transportation, unloading, and furniture assembly and disassembly. Our approach is straightforward: arrive prepared, communicate clearly, handle belongings carefully, and help make moving day easier.

ABOUT THE POSITIONS

We’re hiring for two roles:

- Moving Truck Driver: Safely operate the moving truck and work alongside the crew with loading, unloading, and other moving duties. This is an active moving position with driving responsibilities.
- Moving Helper: Assist with preparing, protecting, carrying, loading, and unloading customers’ belongings. A driver’s licence is not required for the helper position.

Both roles require teamwork, physical effort, attention to detail, and friendly customer service.

WHAT YOU’LL DO





- Carefully load and unload furniture, boxes, appliances, and other household belongings.
- Wrap and protect furniture and take care around floors, walls, doorways, and stairs.
- Use moving equipment, including dollies, straps, and furniture blankets, safely and correctly.
- Help disassemble and reassemble furniture as required.
- Work with the crew to organize and secure loads for safe transportation.
- Follow job instructions and communicate clearly with customers and teammates.
- Keep trucks, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Report damage, equipment concerns, or safety issues promptly.
- Stay courteous and professional when a move becomes challenging.
- For drivers: complete vehicle checks, plan safe routes, and operate and park the truck responsibly.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You’re dependable, willing to work, and comfortable being part of a hands-on team. You take direction well, ask questions when needed, and look for ways to help without waiting to be asked.

You should have:

- The ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds, with team lifting and appropriate equipment for heavier or awkward items.
- The ability to work on your feet, use stairs, and perform physical tasks throughout a shift.
- A careful approach to handling customers’ property.
- Clear communication skills and a respectful attitude.
- Reliable transportation to the designated meeting location or job site.




- The ability to work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Punctuality, a positive attitude, and a commitment to completing each job safely.

Previous experience in moving, deliveries, furniture handling, warehouse work, or other physical work is an asset. We also welcome applicants with transferable skills who are ready to learn and contribute.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR DRIVERS

- A valid driver’s licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- A clean driving record.
- Confidence safely operating and manoeuvring a moving truck.
- A commitment to vehicle safety and responsible driving.
- Previous moving truck or commercial driving experience is preferred.
