Position Summary
Join our team at CIPS as a Diesel Automotive Technician, where your expertise in automotive repair will shine! This position is for part-time, regularity on work is dependent on work available.
In this role, you’ll be diagnosing and fixing a wide range of automotive issues, ensuring that every component runs smoothly and safely. You’ll leverage your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to provide exceptional service to our clients.
This position is ideal for the technician that is looking for additional work, or retired technicians that want to keep busy.
Pay Structure
Pay is structured on a "per job" basis. Technician will receive a set amount of hours to disassemble, evaluate, clean parts and reassemble the component. Each component has different number of hours for pay.
The listed pay amount on this advertisement is set at $50.00 per hour. If it takes 50 hours for a job, that would be $2,500.00.
What you’ll do
- Assemble new component parts for vehicles including engines, transmission and transfer assemblies.
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmission and transfer assemblies.
- Utilize tools and equipment for diagnostics and repairs.
- Work with schematics to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Conduct powertrain repairs with precision.
- Clean and assess parts to determine reuse or replacement.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance overall service efficiency and solve problems.
Basic qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for various repair tasks.
- Solid knowledge of diesel engine repair.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
