Additional to the internal holdings, Critical Discoveries provides exploration planning and execution for key clients in various deposit types.

About the role

In anticipation of significant growth within our exploration business, we are inviting expressions of interest from qualified geologists for the position of Junior Geologist to join our expanding exploration team.

As a Junior Geologist reporting directly to the Senior Geologist, you will support the exploration team through core logging, fieldwork, and technical report writing. You will assist with planning and carrying out exploration programs, collecting and interpreting geological data, and preparing assessment reports. Your responsibilities will include:

- Core handling & organization: receive, label, orient,



and store drill core accurately; verify depths and maintain core integrity.
- Geological logging: log lithology, alteration, mineralization, structures, recovery, and RQD clearly and consistently.
- Sampling & QA/QC: define sample intervals, manage sample tags, insert standards/blanks/duplicates, and maintain chain of custody.
- Data management & documentation: photograph core, enter logs into databases, validate data, and maintain version control.
- Communication & safety: report significant intervals and issues, support interpretation, and follow core shack safety and professional standards.
- Conducting fieldwork and preparing clear, accurate assessment reports.

We are seeking dynamic individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess strong teamwork and leadership skills to contribute to the continued success of our exploration projects.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should possess prior experience in mineral exploration, along with the following qualifications and skills:

- Bachelor's Degree in Geology from a recognized tertiary institution
- Demonstrated understanding of geochemistry and structural geology
- Familiarity with GIS Software (QGIS or ArcGIS)
- Working knowledge of geological 3D software such as Micromine, Surpac, or Leapfrog
- Working knowledge of logging software such as MXDeposit, Acquire, Excel etc.
- Currently based in Manitoba or willing to relocate to Manitoba for the position.
