Looking for some extra work this holiday season without the usual high-stress security environment?

Come work a fun, family-friendly Christmas Village with VCS in Langley this holiday season.

Think Christmas lights, local vendors, food, music, families, holiday activities, and a warm community atmosphere.

This is a seasonal contracted event security position. We are looking for AST-certified guards who want additional holiday work in a positive, professional event environment.

Security at VCS is hospitality first. We are not looking for aggressive security. We want calm, approachable professionals who know how to stay aware, communicate clearly, and step in professionally when needed.

What You’ll Mostly Be Doing

- Greeting guests and maintaining a friendly, professional presence
- Monitoring entrances and exits
- Making sure guests entering controlled areas are properly authorized
- Preventing unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas
- Making sure alcohol remains within designated licensed areas
- Supporting guest flow during busy periods
- Answering basic questions and providing directions
- Watching the overall environment and reporting anything unusual
- Following standard event-security procedures
- Assisting vendors, guests, and event organizers when needed
- Using communication and de-escalation if an issue arises
- Completing incident reports when required

Contract Details

Pay: $22 - $25 , ( contract position )
Position: Seasonal Contract
Contract Period: November 24 – December 24, 2026
Market Dates: November 24 – December 24
Location: Langley, British Columbia
Shifts: Generally 8–12 hours depending on market hours and operational needs
TBD: Training / Orientation / Uniform Fitting

You do not need to be available every day. We are building a larger event team and can work with different availability.

Applicants with strong availability throughout the market run will receive priority.

Required Qualifications:

- Valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Advanced Security Training — AST
- Professional security experience
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills
- Friendly, approachable personality
- Strong hospitality/customer-service mindset
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working outdoors
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

You’ll be working around families, vendors, food, music, holiday activities, and the community.

For the majority of the event, your job is to maintain a visible, friendly, skilled security presence, make sure access is controlled properly, ensure alcohol stays within designated areas, and follow normal event-security protocols.

You are there to help create a safe, welcoming atmosphere while staying ready if something needs your attention.

VCS event uniform will be provided.

A refundable uniform deposit may be required and will be returned when all VCS-issued items are returned in good condition at the end of the contract.
