Join Standard Bay Support Services as a PSW, DSW, CSW or Respite Support Worker providing compassionate, reliable and trauma-informed support in Stratford and Perth Counties.

We are seeking dependable professionals who are passionate about supporting children, youth, adults and seniors, including individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, behavioural needs and other support needs.

The successful candidate will provide respite and community-based support, promote independence, assist with daily living activities, and help individuals participate safely and meaningfully in their homes and communities.

This is a paid position with opportunities for ongoing and flexible work, depending on client and program needs.

Training matters to us. Candidates who have completed relevant caregiver or support-worker training through CareBound Institute are encouraged to apply and may be considered for appropriate support roles based on their education, experience, client requirements and applicable position qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide person-centred support based on each individual's established care/support plan
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, dressing, bathing, grooming and mobility, where required
- Support individuals with developmental, physical, behavioural and/or complex support needs
- Provide respite support to individuals and families
- Support community participation, appointments, recreation and social activities
- Assist with meal preparation and household routines as required
- Encourage independence, skill development and positive daily routines




- Provide emotional support, companionship and respectful relationship-based care
- Use appropriate de-escalation and supportive communication techniques
- Support individuals to achieve personal goals and develop greater independence
- Complete required documentation, shift notes and incident reports accurately and objectively
- Communicate professionally with families, supervisors and other members of the support team
- Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries and a secure environment
- Follow all applicable policies, procedures and client-specific safety/support plans

Qualifications & Skills

- PSW, DSW, CSW, CYW or related education/experience is an asset
- CareBound Institute Certificate holders are encouraged to apply
- Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities, developmental needs, behavioural needs or complex support needs is preferred
- Experience in respite, home care, residential services, community support or related settings is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassion, patience, reliability and professionalism
- Ability to work independently while following established support plans
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations




- Good documentation and organizational skills
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to travel to client locations in Stratford and surrounding Huron/Perth communities
