Who We Are
NETES is a not-for-profit Indigenous organization supporting the success of Indigenous people in Winnipeg. We offer adult education, skills training and employment services, along with wrap-around services such as daycare, student housing, and health and wellness programming. Rooted in community, respect, and Indigenous values, our work helps build a strong, thriving Indigenous community.
The Opportunity
The Program Essentials Instructor delivers the Program Essentials program as part of the Education and Training experience at NETES. The program prepares adult learners for successful participation in college-level training by strengthening the personal, academic, and employability skills needed to succeed in school, work, and the community.
The Instructor supports students in developing self-awareness, health and wellness practices, study and organizational skills, financial management, teamwork, communication, career planning, and other essential and soft skills. The program also gives students opportunities to increase their understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and community.
Learning extends beyond the classroom through guest speakers from Indigenous communities, industry, and business, as well as community awareness, volunteerism, and involvement.
The Program Essentials Instructor creates an engaging and supportive learning setting that responds to the diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning needs of adult students.
