Description:

ALCO Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced Journeyman Pipefitter to join our pipe fabrication team. Reporting to the Assembly General Foreman the Journeyman Pipefitteris an integral part of the ALCO team. The Journeyman Pipefitter is a vital member of the ALCO team, playing a hands-on role in the safe and precise assembly of process piping systems that are the backbone of industrial operations. This position demands a high level of technical skill, attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to safety.

Responsibilities & Duties

- The ability to use tools and equipment safely, while abiding by the health and safety rules
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, as well as, helping others maintain their work area
- Reading and interpreting P&ID; and GA drawings to assemble a process piping system is required
- Must be capable of independently fabricating shop run NPT and socket weld piping systems
- Installing supports, valves, piping and control systems
- Using hand tools or machines to perform various activities
- Measuring, cutting, threading and bending pipe
- Perform hydrotest or pneumatic testing
- Adherence to industry and client standards as detailed on drawings and company general practices
- Safely use tools and equipment as es per ALCO Secure Work Procedures and Practices
- Other tasks as required

Qualifications / Experience

· Minimum 3-year experience as a Pipefitter

· Journeyman Pipefitter with Red Seal is an asset

· Ability to read and interpret PID

· Knowledge in hydrostatic testing

· Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred

· Experience in threaded piping systems

· Rigging experience

· Valid government issued driver’s license

· Overall skill in relation to tools, measuring and fabrication in general





· Experience in a pipe fabrication setting

· Strong commitment to safety

· Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team

· Self-motivated, organized and able to work in high pressure schedule driven environment

· OSSA Fall Protection is an asset

Working Conditions

· Typical workday is 10 hours; overtime and weekend work may be required with short notice based on operational and project demands

· H2S may be present in plant and field environments, appropriate PPE and H2S Alive certification will be provided and maintained by the employer

· Physically demanding position requiring prolonged standing, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting of heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs or more)

· Work performed outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind

· Work at heights on scaffolding, elevated platforms, and ladders, fall protection training and equipment provided

· Confined space entry may be required, confined space certification and equipment will be provided
