About Staffing

Calgary

Our client is a growing manufacturing company looking for an Inside Sales Specialist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building customer relationships, finding solutions, and working in a role that combines sales, technical knowledge, and collaboration. Rather than focusing solely on sales, you’ll be involved in the details that help move customer projects forward, from preparing quotations and coordinating product information to working with internal teams to find the right solutions for each request.

In this position, you’ll work closely with sales, customer experience, and engineering teams, making communication, organization, and attention to detail essential to your success. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your understanding of technical products, strengthen your analytical skills, and become a trusted resource for both customers and colleagues. If you enjoy variety in your day, learning how things work, and taking ownership of your responsibilities, this role offers an opportunity to put those strengths to use.

The ideal candidate is analytical, tech-savvy, adaptable, and team-oriented, with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Previous lighting industry experience would be an asset, but we’re also interested in candidates with a solid foundation in sales who are eager to learn and grow. If you’re looking for your next step in sales and enjoy being part of a team where accuracy, collaboration, and customer satisfaction matter, we’d love to hear from you!

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

- Prepare accurate and timely quotations using internal enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Respond to requests for bills of materials by researching product pricing, availability, and estimated lead times.

- Coordinate with customer experience and sales teams to manage order priorities, quotation updates, scheduling requirements, and changing customer needs.
- Partner with outside sales representatives and sales management to support customer quotations, assess requests, and contribute to effective sales strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering to obtain technical product information, investigate customer requirements, and identify suitable alternative solutions when needed.
- Review technical drawings, customer purchase orders, and quotations to verify that product specifications and order details align.
- Coordinate drawing requests and submit technical documentation requests to engineering, following up as needed to keep projects moving forward.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives involving new products, sales representative onboarding, product training, and technical resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates clearly to ensure requests are handled efficiently and customers receive reliable information.
- Apply sound judgment and analytical thinking to troubleshoot issues, adapt to changing priorities, and support the team’s overall sales objectives.

Education:

- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Sales, or a related field would be considered an asset.

Experience:

- Approximately 1-2 years of experience in sales, inside sales, customer service, or a similar client-facing role.
- Previous experience in the lighting industry or a technical manufacturing environment would be considered a strong asset.

- Experience preparing quotations, processing customer requests, or working with technical products would be beneficial.

Skills:

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret information and assess options before providing recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new software, systems, and product specifications quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing pricing, quotations, technical drawings, and order documentation.
- Effective organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Adaptability, initiative, and a team-oriented approach to managing changing business needs.
