Educational Focused Family Assistant Needed in Rosedale. Earn up to $40/hour
- Driving Required
A warm family of four who recently relocated from Washington, DC to Toronto is looking for an exceptional Family Assistant/Educator to help their two school-aged daughters settle into their new routines and keep their busy household organized and running smoothly.
The family would love to find someone smart, highly organized, reliable, relatable, and warm who can be a positive role model and companion for their girls. A strong educational background or experience tutoring and supporting school-aged children would be a wonderful fit for this family.
Both girls are bright, warm, and engaging. As they transition to new schools in Toronto, the family is particularly looking for someone who can take an active interest in their education—understanding what they are learning, helping them adjust to recent school expectations and routines, and providing consistent academic support.
Their older daughter has ADHD, so someone who is particularly strong with organization, routines, executive functioning, and helping children stay on track would be a great fit. The Family Assistant will help both girls build strong habits around schoolwork, schedules, activities, belongings, and overall organization.
During the day, the Family Assistant will help keep the household organized through errands, grocery shopping, scheduling,
and general household support.
After school, the focus shifts to the girls, including:
School pick-ups and managing busy after-school schedules
Driving to activities
Providing tutoring, homework help, and academic support
Becoming familiar with what the girls are learning in school and helping reinforce concepts at home
Helping the girls adjust to their new schools, routines, expectations, and workload
Supporting organization, time management, and executive functioning skills
Helping the girls stay organized with schoolwork, activities, schedules, and belongings
Keeping parents updated on school schedules, assignments, activities, and other important information
Providing a warm, engaging, and supportive presence
The family is also open to a part-time schedule of approximately 2:00–7:00 p.m. for an exceptional candidate who would prefer to focus primarily on the children's education, tutoring, school routines, and organization rather than the household-management portion of the role.
The family has a daily housekeeper who also assists with meal preparation, so no regular housekeeping is required. They are simply looking for someone happy to pitch in when needed.
The family also has a well-trained Labradoodle. Candidates should be comfortable helping with walks, groomer appointments, and occasional pet-related errands.
Some overnight care and travel assistance will be required for the full-time Family Assistant position. Pet sitting when the family travels would be ideal but is not mandatory.
The family is away for most of the summer. The successful candidate will continue to receive their full salary during this time.
Driving is required, and a family vehicle is available for use during working hours.
