Your Future Is With Us
Are you an accomplished culinary leader driven by modern steakhouse innovation, scratch cooking, and team mentorship? This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the kitchen brigade as a Sous Chef at ANIML, INK Entertainment’s new nouveau steakhouse experience hidden in the heart of King Street West. At ANIML, aesthetic meats meet audacious luxury, offering modern renditions of classic dishes where everything—from delicate buttery Patagonian fish to Canadian prairie meats and Japanese beer-fed cattle—is within reach.
In the absence of the Executive Chef, you will assume direct operational leadership over all kitchen activities, food production quality, and team management. With structured cross-training, ongoing professional development, and internal mobility across our expanding portfolio of fine dining, luxury nightlife, and lifestyle venues, your future starts here.
About INK Entertainment
Operating since 1982, INK Entertainment is a powerhouse in lifestyle, hospitality, and entertainment. We create culture-defining experiences across acclaimed dining destinations (Sofia, Amal, Akira Back, Margo, Daphne), luxury nightlife (REBEL, Toybox, Cabana Pool Bar), major festivals (VELD), and private clubs (Clio). We work hard, innovate constantly, and offer unmatched career mobility for people who bring passion to the table.
About ANIML
Located on King Street West, ANIML is a nouveau steakhouse concept designed for those who seek the extraordinary. Pairing cutting-edge culinary creations with a high-style, high-energy atmosphere, our back-of-house team operates with rigorous standards of scratch preparation, precise knife work, and an unwavering commitment to station cleanliness, food safety, and quality assurance.
The Role
As a Sous Chef at ANIML, you will partner closely with the Executive Chef to oversee a cost-effective, immaculate,

- Kitchen Operations & Cost Control: Manage product ordering, minimize food waste, optimize kitchen workflows, and oversee First-In, First-Out (FIFO) inventory rotation and temperature compliance.
- Team Training & Mentorship: Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff on recipes, knife skills, HACCP protocols, and proper cooking techniques to uphold ANIML's standards.
- Quality Assurance & Safety: Ensure strict compliance with health department regulations, sanitation codes, WHMIS, and HACCP food safety guidelines across all stations.
- Executive Coverage: Assume full leadership responsibilities for kitchen operations, team management, and food quality in the absence of the Executive Chef.
What We’re Looking For
- Culinary Experience: 3–5 years of industry experience in a supervisory role within an established, high-end food service establishment (fine dining and high-volume steakhouse experience strongly preferred).
- Technical Expertise: Formal culinary training required; Food Handler Certification preferred; extensive knowledge of hot/cold food preparation, protein butchery, and food cost controls.
- Leadership & Communication:
Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills; ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective under extreme pressure.
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods, work in extreme temperatures (-10°F to +110°F), lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull carts up to 250 lbs, and physically demonstrate culinary techniques.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
- Global Career Pathways & Mobility: Cross-training opportunities across ANIML and other INK Entertainment venues (conveniently located within walking distance of the TTC subway), with clear paths to Head Chef and Culinary Director roles.
- Competitive Compensation: Annual salary starting from $55,000.00+ per year (commensurate with overall experience) + comprehensive benefits package.
- Perks & Perks: Extended health care, shift meals, dining discounts across all INK Entertainment venues, and early access to select INK events and concerts.
- Culture & Growth: Direct mentorship from industry leaders, ongoing professional development, and a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
