Furtado’s Garage is a busy independent automotive repair shop looking for a professional, organized and personable Automotive Service Advisor / Front Counter person to join our team.

This is an important role in the day-to-day operation of the shop. The successful candidate will help manage customer communication, appointments, estimates, repair orders, parts coordination and workflow between the front counter and technicians.

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the front counter, keep jobs moving efficiently, and provide customers with clear and honest information about their vehicles.

Duties

- Answer phones and greet customers
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Schedule appointments and help organize the daily shop workload
- Prepare repair orders, estimates and invoices
- Explain recommended repairs and maintenance clearly to customers
- Obtain customer approvals and keep customers updated on vehicle status
- Coordinate with technicians to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Order parts and communicate with suppliers
- Recommend and sell required repairs and maintenance
- Finalize invoices, process payments, and review completed work with customers at pickup
- Follow up on estimates and previously declined work
- Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records
- Help keep the front office organized

Skills and Experience





- Previous automotive service advisor, parts or repair-shop experience is preferred
- Good automotive knowledge and understanding of common repairs and maintenance
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Comfortable discussing repair costs and recommendations with customers
- Organized and able to manage multiple jobs at the same time
- Experience creating estimates and invoices is an asset
- Automotive parts-ordering experience is an asset
- Experience with shop-management software is an asset
- Reliable, self-motivated and comfortable working as part of a small team

Dealership experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person who has solid communication skills, good automotive knowledge and the ability to learn quickly.

What We Offer

- $25–$30/hour depending on experience and ability
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- No regular Saturday shifts
