Pylon Electronics Inc. is an ISO 17025-certified calibration facility supporting electronic and physical test equipment and is one of the largest Canadian-owned calibration laboratories. Pylon Electronics has a solid reputation for repairing and calibrating measuring instruments. We have six laboratories in Ottawa, Toronto, Dartmouth, Calgary, Edmonton, Richmond, and a sales office in Montreal.

Summary

Pylon is seeking a skilled Programmer to join our team. The Programmer will update and maintain our CMS application utilized among our company users at seven sites across Canada to ensure operations are running smoothly. Reporting to the Programming Lead and the Vice-President of Corporate Operations, the successful candidate will have the following duties, responsibilities, and experience:

Job Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, test, and troubleshoot company business applications and backend services.
- Maintain existing applications while assisting with the modernization and future replacement of legacy systems.
- Develop database-driven applications and integrations using C#/.NET, Python, SQL, APIs, and related technologies.
- Analyze existing applications and business processes to preserve established functionality and business rules.
- Write maintainable, documented, and testable code.
- Troubleshoot software, database, and integration issues.
- Communicate technical information effectively with technical and non-technical users.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Programming Lead and Vice-President of Corporate Operations

Experience and Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or equivalent




- Minimum 5 years professional software development experience.
- Solid C#/.NET development and object-oriented programming experience.
- Strong SQL/MySQL skills, including database design, querying, optimization, and data management.
- Experience developing and maintaining database-driven business applications.
- Python experience for automation, integrations, backend services, and data processing.
- Experience with REST APIs, HTTPS, authentication, and application integrations.
- Experience with Git/version control.
- Experience with Visual FoxPro 9 or other legacy application modernization is highly desirable.
- Experience with ASP.NET Core, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, Docker, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, PowerShell, or PowerApps is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Other Requirements:

The applicant must be eligible to obtain a Secret Level II Security Clearance and pass Controlled Goods screening in Canada as a condition of employment.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
