Role Overview

The Vascular Sonographer is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services while providing compassionate, patient-centred care. This role performs accredited imaging examinations, produces accurate diagnostic reports, and collaborates closely with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to support patient assessment and treatment planning. The Vascular Sonographer ensures adherence to established clinical protocols, quality assurance standards, and best practices while maintaining imaging equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to a professional, team-oriented healthcare environment.

Role Status: Full time / Part-time / Casual

Work Locations: Southcentre (#820 11012 Macleod Trail SE) and University District (3917 University Ave NW, Suite 325), with possibility of assignment at other Windflower locations within Calgary as required.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduction of examinations in accordance with the WFVV Procedure Manual
- Explaining examinations to patients, answering questions, and positioning for optimal imaging
- Setting up and adjusting equipment to produce clear images
- Perform all accredited imaging examinations
- Prepare accurate reports and present findings to surgeons, physicians, and reading radiologists/physicians




- Collaborate on treatment planning and assist with imaging-guided procedures
- Provide professional and compassionate patient care in an evidence-based manner
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Adherence to Quality Assurance programs and processes in place
- Participation in procedure updates, ongoing professional development, and maintenance of current standard of care

Qualifications

- Graduate of an accredited North American Ultrasound program recognized by Sonography Canada
- Current registration with Sonography Canada
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sonography
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in sonography and patient care
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Proficient with EMRs, internet, and email
- Current Liability Insurance
- Current BCLS (HCP-AED)
- Immunizations up to date - Hepatitis B, MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Pertussis, TB skin testing, and annual flu shot (recommended)
