Nurse Next Door Victoria is seeking skilled and compassionate Health Care Aides (HCAs) for a casual position providing one-on-one care to a client requiring assistance with overhead ceiling lift transfers.

We are looking for experienced caregivers who prioritize safety, dignity, and person-centred care. Experience supporting clients living with multiple sclerosis (MS) is considered an asset.

Position Details

Employment Type: Casual

Available Shifts:

- Day Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Evening Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM

We are seeking casual coverage across these shifts. Availability for one or more shifts will be considered, with flexibility to support the client's ongoing care needs preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely perform transfers using an overhead ceiling lift in accordance with the client's care plan, equipment instructions, and established procedures.
- Assist with personal care, activities of daily living, mobility, positioning, and comfort.




- Maintain the client's safety, dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Follow the care plan and communicate changes in the client's condition or care needs.
- Complete accurate and thorough documentation.
- Use equipment safely and work within your training, experience, and scope of practice.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment as required.

Requirements

- Health Care Assistant (HCA) certificate or equivalent recognized caregiver education.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with overhead ceiling lift transfers is required.
- Experience supporting clients living with multiple sclerosis (MS) is considered an asset.
- Confidence providing personal care and mobility assistance to clients with complex physical support needs.
- Ability to follow transfer procedures and prioritize client and caregiver safety.
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed within the past year.
- Two professional references.
- Reliable, compassionate, and professional approach to caregiving.
