About the Client:

We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for a woman in her senior years who recently returned home from the hospital and is recovering at The Riverina retirement residence in Napanee, Ontario. This is her first time receiving professional care services. She's working on regaining her strength and independence during this recovery period. The family is looking for someone who is calm, patient, and respectful of her independence while providing the support she needs to get back on her feet.

Responsibilities:

Your primary focus will be helping her start each day successfully. Morning visits will include assistance with toileting and hygiene, helping her get out of bed, and ensuring she's set up for the day ahead. You'll provide light meal support such as reheating food and offering reminders about eating. Light tidying around her unit will help maintain a comfortable living workplace. A key part of this role is encouraging gentle mobility—taking walks down the hall together to help rebuild her strength and stamina. You'll also assist with showering every other day as part of her personal care routine. The goal is to support her recovery while fostering her confidence and independence.

What We're Looking For:

We need someone with personal care experience who is comfortable with post-hospital recovery support. You should be calm, patient, and able to bring positive energy to each visit. The ideal caregiver respects the client's independence and encourages her progress without being overbearing. English-speaking is required.



Experience with seniors and understanding the balance between providing help and promoting self-sufficiency is essential. You should be reliable, take initiative when needed, and communicate clearly with the family about progress and any concerns.

Schedule:

This position requires daily visits, seven days per week during the initial recovery period (approximately two weeks). Each visit will be two hours in the morning, with flexibility to start anywhere between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Once the client regains more strength, the schedule may transition to three times per week for ongoing support. Consistency with the same caregiver is very important to the family.
