Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Buyer-Food & Consumables, to join our team in Canada. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded buyer who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys building assortments that connect with customers across multiple categories. You will be responsible for developing a robust, profitable product assortment and managing all aspects of vendor relationships and category performance. The ideal candidate combines a strong sense of trend with disciplined financial management and the ability to execute plans from concept to floor.

Responsibilities

- Develop and manage the Food assortment in alignment with brand and financial objectives.
- Build strong relationships with vendors and brand partners; negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional opportunities.
- Analyze sales performance, margins, and inventory levels to optimize category profitability.
- Identify new opportunities within seasonal and core product lines to drive growth and customer engagement.
- Create and manage open-to-buy plans, ensuring accurate forecasting and timely product flow.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations,



and visual teams to ensure successful product launches and in-store presentation.
- Stay current with retail trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
- Participate in trade shows and buying markets as required.'

Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive buying experience in dry food category.
- Proven success in managing category performance and vendor relationships.
- Experience within grocery, dollar store, convenience, or mass retail environments.
- Solid financial and analytical skills, with accountability for P&L; and inventory management.
- Self-starter with strong decision-making ability and excellent organizational skills.
- Collaborative communicator who works effectively in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
- Flexible, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for retail and product innovation.
- Required to work in the office five days a week, Monday-Friday
