Location: Mississauga, ON (in office)
Pay: $20.00/hour + overtime after 44 hrs at time-and-a-half ($30.00/hr)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:30 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Type: Full-time, path to be hired directly by our client after pobation period

About the role

You are the last person who checks a load before it leaves the building. If a driver leaves with the wrong invoices, a short rack count, or 40 minutes late, the customer feels it at 6 a.m. This role exists to make sure that doesn't happen.

You'll run the overnight dispatch desk for retail delivery routes serving Costco and Loblaws, coordinating driver departures, verifying paperwork, reconciling counts, and tracking trucks on GPS until the routes are running clean.

What you'll do

- Review route lists and confirm each driver leaves with the correct invoices for their assigned route
- Verify invoice totals are accurate and not zeroed out
- Count Costco racks and Loblaws skids against pick sheets and invoices, and flag every discrepancy before departure
- Have each driver physically count and sign off on their load
- Monitor departure times and step in to clear bottlenecks before they become delays
- Track drivers in real time on GPS software and confirm routes are on schedule
- Follow up on any driver stopped longer than 30 minutes and find out why
- Escalate delays, missing invoices, and no-shows to the supervisor immediately

What you need

- At least 1 year in dispatch on the transportation, logistics, or warehouse field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear written and spoken English, you'll be writing short reports and talking to drivers under time pressure
- Comfort with computers and GPS/tracking software

- Legally eligible to work in Canada on a full-time, ongoing basis
- Able to work overnight on a consistent schedule, and able to work in 0°C to 5°C
- Reliable transportation to our Mississauga site for an 11:30 p.m. start (there is limited transit at that hour)
- Spanish is an asset, not a requirement

This job is probably not for you if

- You've never worked overnight and aren't sure how your body will handle it
- You want a desk job, you'll be on the floor counting racks in the cold several times a shift
- You avoid confrontation. You'll be telling drivers their count is short and holding them until it's right.

What we offer

- Overtime after 44 hours at time-and-a-half
- 4% vacation pay, paid out weekly
- Consistent Monday–Friday schedule, same hours every week
- Clear path to permanent placement for people who show up and get the counts right

How to apply

Apply with your resume and answer the screening questions. In the first question, tell us in a few sentences about a shipment problem you caught before it left the building. Applications without that answer won't be reviewed.
