Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of desserts, including cakes, pastries, and specialty treats, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Decorate cakes and desserts with precision using cake decorating techniques to enhance visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dessert station, ensuring all tools and ingredients are properly stored and sanitized
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and packaging desserts for display or takeout orders
- Ensure food safety standards are upheld by following proper food handling procedures at all times
- Support the team in packaging desserts securely for delivery or customer pickup to preserve quality
- Provide friendly, attentive customer service by answering questions about menu items and offering recommendations
Skills
- Experience in cake decorating or pastry arts is highly desirable
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with fast-paced environments
- Strong skills in food preparation, baking, and general kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of food packaging practices to ensure product quality during transport or display
