Job Overview

The Bag Machine Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of high-speed bag converting lines

(including side-weld, bottom-seal, pouch, and wicketted machines). This role directly ensures optimal output rate, pouch

structural integrity, minimal material waste, and compliance with strict safety and quality standards across continuous.12-hour production shifts.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate bag-making and flexible packaging conversion machines.
- Adjust machine settings, including temperature, speed, tension, and sealing parameters.
- Monitor production quality, including bag dimensions, seals, perforations, and print registration.
- Identify and troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime and material waste.
- Perform routine cleaning and minor machine maintenance.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Maintain a clean and organized production area in accordance with 5S standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

- 1–3+ years of experience operating bag-making, plastic converting, or adaptable packaging machinery preferred.
- Experience with machines such as Hudson-Sharp, Amplas,



Totani, or similar equipment is an asset.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with touch-screen machine controls and production settings.
- Ability to read measurements and use basic measuring tools.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Ability to lift, move, or reposition packaging rolls weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and workplace safety.

Compensation and Schedule

- Starting pay: $20.00 per hour, depending on relevant experience.
- Shift: 12 Hours
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Work location: Etobicoke, Ontario.
