Position Title: Family Medicine Physician

Job Overview

We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team or we have space to establish your own practice. You will have support to practice as a comprehensive family doctor or if you plan to subspecialize in care. We are here to provide the framework for you practice but not interested in micromanaging it. If you are interested there is chance in collaborating with the specialists including Rheumatology to provide more comprehensive immunology care to autoimmune patients. This may involve comorbidity management or helping with non-biologic Rheumatology patients including gout, osteoarthritis, and simple rheumatoid arthritis. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and is self sufficient.

Clinic Details

Our medical clinic in Calgary is run by physicians and provides specialist care particularly Rheumatology, along with a family medicine clinic. We have a new clinic space that is well organized, newly renovated, and centrally located in Calgary.

Clinic features include:

- The clinic uses Accuro EMR but if you have your own PIA you can use your own.
- Pharmacy built into the space to provide enhanced patient care with a cooperative pharmacy team.
- Nursing support (LPN).
- IT/Phone support.
- Payment structure is fee-for-service, split overhead arrangement is 75/25, and the range of potential gross annual earnings is $400,000+.
- Flexible work schedule.
- You can share a clinic MOA or hire your own if desired.

Key Responsibilities

- Working in person preferred, can have some virtual care.
- Will need to work with AHS fee for service model or have AHS salaried position to generate income.
- Maintain and use clinic EMR for all visits or if you have your own custodian of records you can use your own EMR. Maintain detailed documentation of patient interactions, medication administration, and clinical observations in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Compliance: Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with the Alberta Health Information Act (HIA).

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: MD postgraduate training from Australia, Canada, Ireland, UK, or USA or another MD training program recognized by Canada. Will need to have citizenship or PR.
- Registration: Active registration and practice permit in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
- Experience: New or experienced physicians.
- Certifications: AHS training and courses up to date as per guidelines.
