About Saucy Bird
Saucy Bird is a growing Vancouver-based food brand specializing in bold, chef-developed sauces, seasonings, and gluten-free chicken.
We're building something bigger than a restaurant. Our focus is creating exceptional food products with the quality, consistency, and production standards needed to grow nationally.
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Production Chef to join our team at The Skript Kitchen in Olympic Village.
This is a hands-on food production position, not a traditional restaurant line-cook role. You'll work with established recipes, commercial equipment, and structured production schedules to manufacture our sauces and dry seasonings.
What You'll Be Doing
- Prepare and produce sauces in commercial batches using established recipes.
- Accurately weigh, measure, scale, and prepare ingredients.
- Blend and package dry rubs and seasonings.
- Operate commercial kettles, mixers, filling machines, and packaging equipment.
- Fill, cap, seal, label, and pack finished products.
- Maintain consistent flavour, texture, fill weights, and product quality.
- Follow food-safety, allergen-control, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
- Complete production logs, batch records, and lot tracking.
- Maintain organized workstations, equipment, and ingredient storage.
- Assist with inventory management and production planning.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency without compromising quality.
Who We're Looking For
- Experience in a professional kitchen, commissary, catering operation, or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Confidence working independently and following detailed recipes.
- Understanding of food safety and proper sanitation.
- Experience with commercial food-production equipment is an asset.
- Comfortable working with recipes measured by weight and producing consistent commercial batches.
- Dependable, efficient, and proud of producing high-quality food.
Previous sauce production experience is an asset, but not essential. We're happy to train the right culinary professional who has strong fundamentals and a disciplined approach to food production.
What We Offer
- Starting wage of $25/hour
- 32–40 hours per week
- Permanent, on-site employment
- Paid vacation and statutory leave in accordance with BC employment standards
- Structured production work rather than traditional restaurant service
- Training on our recipes, processes, and equipment
- The chance to develop your skills and grow with an expanding Canadian food brand
- A workplace built around quality, respect, accountability, and fair compensation
The Opportunity
You'll work closely with our founder and chef as you learn our products and production standards.
As you become comfortable with our systems, the goal is for you to take ownership of routine sauce and seasoning production.
We're looking for someone who wants to do excellent work, build long-term relationships, and be part of a growing company.
