GPI Chartered Professional Accountants is looking for a Full-Time Senior Accounting Technician (NOC 12200)! This is a full-time, permanent position with 30-40 hours per week, $38.00 to $40.00/hour, with benefits.
Job Description:
• Preparation of compilation financial statements including required CRA filings
• Preparation of personal income tax returns
• Perform bookkeeping data entry for a variety of clients
• Prepare GST returns, PST returns, Work Safe reports, T4s and T5s
• Keeping management informed of the status of engagements to ensure timely completion
Job Requirements:
• Completion of courses in accounting or bookkeeping
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk
• Post-secondary education in accounting or bookkeeping is an asset
• Possess a solid understanding of basic accounting processes and principles
• Understanding of sales taxes, payroll taxes and corporate tax
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage figures and records with a high degree of accuracy




• Experience with bookkeeping software (QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks desktop, and Sage 50 Xero)
• Experience preparing GST returns, PST returns, T4, T5 slips, WorkSafe
• Comfortable with learning new software and applications
• Ability to work with confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
• Language in the workplace is English
