Your Opportunity:

Join the healthcare team at Calgary Remand Centre (CRC) as our team expands related to newly funded positions within a secure correctional workplace. CRC provides healthcare services to a patient population of more than 700 individuals and experiences frequent admissions, transfers, court movements, and releases, creating a fast-paced and dynamic clinical setting where no two shifts are the same. As a LPN, you will provide care to a diverse patient population with complex medical, mental health, and substance use needs. Working to full scope of practice, you will be responsible for health assessments, frequent admission intake screenings, medication administration for a large patient population, withdrawal management and treatment, discharge planning, chronic disease management, wound care, and urgent clinical interventions. LPNs play a critical role in maintaining and operating nursing clinics that provide primary care, episodic care, and assessment of emergent health concerns. Nurses are also responsible for responding to medical emergencies and code situations throughout the facility, requiring strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to act decisively in unpredictable situations. This position is ideal for nurses who enjoy working with a variety, autonomy, clinical complexity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health outcomes of a vulnerable population.
