We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier/Barista to join our team at 300 John Street. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving beverages and food items, and handling transactions accurately. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, strong time management skills, and a passion for creating a welcoming environment for our customers. Duties
- Operate POS systems to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, bubble teas and slushes in accordance with company standards
- Pack and stock buns and organize the bun display in an efficient way
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision and integrity
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area and food prep stations
- Ensure food safety and proper handling of all food items following health regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and addressing concerns promptly
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality
- Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed
- Follow all food safety protocols and maintain a clean work setting at all times
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or as a barista is preferred; familiarity with serving and food preparation is a plus
- Proficiency with POS systems, especially is desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and processing transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous experience in the food industry or bakery shop setting is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
