THE ROLE:

Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Senior Budget Analyst to support a key budgeting cycle and provide strategic financial insight across the organization. This contract opportunity is ideal for a finance professional who excels at transforming complex financial data into actionable recommendations and driving improvements in planning and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and enhance budgeting templates, financial models, and reporting tools
- Partner with operational leaders and finance teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Deliver financial analysis that supports strategic and operational decision-making
- Coordinate quarterly budget reviews and forecasting processes
- Analyze variances, financial trends, and key performance indicators
- Prepare meaningful management reporting to support business planning initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve budgeting processes and financial reporting efficiency

ABOUT YOU:

You are a highly analytical finance professional with a strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. You enjoy working with large data sets, building robust financial models, and providing insight that helps leaders make informed decisions. You can effectively manage competing priorities, work independently, and communicate complex financial information to a variety of stakeholders.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- CPA designation required
- Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

- Experience developing budget templates, planning tools, and management reports
- Ability to interpret financial data and present meaningful business insights
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Experience supporting large or complex budgeting cycles
- Previous public sector experience is highly preferred
- Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills
