The Chance

The Buyer Planner is responsible for production and materials planning, purchasing, and expediting materials required to support manufacturing operations and customer projects. This role ensures that materials, components, and services are procured at the right cost, quality, and delivery schedule while maintaining appropriate inventory levels.



The Buyer Planner works closely with suppliers, engineering, production, project management, and logistics teams to support on-time project execution and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Materials planning

- Develop material requirements based on production schedules and forecasts.
- Manage MRP, Min/Max, safety stock levels, and inventory replenishment strategies to ensure material availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Review MRP recommendations, shortages, reschedule notices, and action reports.
- Maintain planning parameters including lead times, MOQs, lot sizes, safety stock levels, ROPs, etc

Production planning

- Plan and schedule production work orders based on target inventory levels, customer demand, and production capacity.
- Analyze production capacity, resource availability, and forecasted demand to ensure adequate manufacturing capability and identify potential constraints.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust plans to address changes in demand, supply, or operational constraints.

Purchasing

- Source and purchase production materials, components, fabricated parts, and services.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Issue and maintain purchase orders in the ERP system.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
