Fort McMurray Catholic Schools is looking for a full time Educational Assistant in Junior High and High School, grades 7-12.

Qualifications:

- Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma
- Non Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI) level A&B;
- Swim Program - ability to swim

Requirements:

- Support students' growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social development
- Support and/or implement teacher directed programming
- Work collaborative under guidance of teacher, CST and other member of the multi-disciplinary team
- Implement specialist (OT, PT, SLP, etc) strategies to achieve required goals
- Implement behaviour management and educational strategies that facilitate student learning




- Communicate effectively with students using age appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school specific behaviour strategies
- Observe student behaviour with focus on achieving positive behavioural/educational outcomes and mitigate/prevent negative ones
- Provide high level of structure to facilitate completion of required learning outcomes
- Work and play at student's physical level of their activities
- Provide support in use of adaptive and learning technologies using a variety of devices and associated programs
- Swim program, able to swim in 50 meters, level 1 and 2
- Successful implement the Positive Behaviour Plan(PBP), if required
- Able to work with students with emotional, behavioural or other disabilities
